Interview with Grigor Dimitrov in Basel

Tuesday evening Grigor Dimitrov will come against Sergei Stahovski for their first match of this year's Swiss Indoors Basel. Before that, however, Bulgarians speak to local radio for a difficult 2015 season, his relationship with Maria Sharapova and comparisons with the six-time champion in the tournament - Roger Federer. This is what Grigor said:

- Wimbledon 2014 were close to the finish and the "big breakthrough". Now, 15 months later, are №28 worldwide. What went wrong?
- Going through a difficult season with ups and downs, which never managed to play an entire tournament at a high level. My achievements to some extent reflect the way I trained. I spent a lot of time looking for the right people on my staff because I want to build something stable to help me make a new start. I must be patient and prepare really well for next season.

- From very early age are referred to as the "star of the future." In 2013 and in. "Team" predicts that by 2018 will have №1 rankings. These expectations weigh you?
- Let's face it - with emeystovoto and friends stay with you in difficult times, while others simply leave when things are not going well ... So happens in tennis and in life. I try not to read the scriptures for me often. However, I see that lately there are a lot of criticism towards me, but many of them are not fair. I wish I could swap place with people who criticize me to see the whole truth. It is easy to criticize someone without knowing much about all aspects of the situation. It is hard to put yourself in the place of the human person attacked.

- To what extent reflects what is happening in your personal life on the level of your performance on the court?
- Of course, that my personal life influences. Tennis is a priority for me and I want to play as much as possible, but this season could not find the balance. I was hard to find myself and figure out what was happening with me on and off the court. I missed a lot of training and I was not feeling so well prepared conditionals. Somehow I neglected tennis because of certain factors, but this is a phase in which I try to pass.

- Impresses you play Federer and Djokovic now? They seem to prevent serious declines in performance.
- Of course, their achievements are amazing and so they are at the top of the rankings. At the moment I do not see the sense of the parallels between me and them. Of course, I'm flattered by comparisons with Roger, but there you need them? One has four ATP titles and the other has won 17 Grand Slam trophies. I can learn from them, while we are rivals on the court. I know if I have a really good day, I can beat every one of them. There are a few basic things that they have realized much earlier than me and have more experience, right? (laughing)

- Are you still confident that you can get to the top of the leaderboard and win the Grand Slam?
- Honestly, I was pretty close to a Grand Slam title. Now the road is really long, and it is not the right time to think about it. I am confident that I can achieve many successes. In 2014 I played incredible, but everything you get in my game, I was riding. Much easier to play well when everything gets in your game. The current situation is a test of my character. Great expectations and comparisons are unnecessary, because at the moment it's only for me to find myself. Open a new page and I want to write a story with its own handwriting.

- You do not have much time.
- I have time, but I have no time to lose. The important thing is I'm healthy and rested well to gather a lot of strength for next season.

- Recently, some young players like Nick Kyrgios and Borna Coric broke the men's tour. Does this fact off pressure from you?
- Good question, but I do not know if I can give you a precise answer. I know what you just go on the court and play released. This is the greatest feeling. We are in a very spectacular era of tennis, where a lot of these guys will go on the court and will make our lives much heavier. The next step, however, is to keep this level and it is far more difficult. I know only one thing - one day can №8 in the world, next to №28.

Grigor Dimitrov in round 2 in Stockholm Open

Round 1 :

Grigor Dimitrov vs Philip Krajinovic 7-5, 6-3

Interview number 2 with Grigor Dimitrov in Stockholm Open

Grigor Dimitrov is one of the biggest stars of IF Stokholm Open - finalist in 2014 and champion in 2013 and definitely interest in it is high. Here is an interesting interview that Bulgarians give to tournament organizers.

- When the tour you do not have do the laundry, cook or clean, but home what you prefer to do?
- At home, try to focus on things you want to do - whether CE will walk out or just get a car and drive around, things like that make me feel satisfied and make me see clearly. These are the things that I rest. Of course, every time I have the opportunity to spend time with his family.

- But cleaning, cooking or laundry - what do you prefer?
- I love to wash their clothes. Cook when I want to impress. Cleaning - I can handle it, but I'm better when I do not have.

- When you say, I like to spend time at home. Where is this?
- In the last year and a half living in Monte Carlo. Wonderful place in Europe and you can easily get to all points is near the east coast of America. Very nice place, quiet, there are excellent courts and everything is simple.

- Travel around the world, do you feel more like a citizen of the world than Bulgarian?
- I am Bulgarian, I Bulgarian passport, but of course, that when you travel so much in the moment you feel a citizen of the world, but we should not forget its roots. It is very easy to become presumptuous, going around the best places in the world. In such moments must be slowed to look around, to be modest. I think as his more modest, the better.

- Are you superstitious?
- I'm superstitious, but do not go crazy. For example, use the same shower in the locker room, sometimes stepping on certain lines, but do not put bottles in a special way. I try not to overdo it.

- Started the season under №11. What were your goals at the beginning of the year?
- My goals were very simple - I wanted to play better and better. In Australia I had their chances against Andy, but then everything goes wrong. I lost confidence after this match, I started working on his racket, I just needed time. I changed many things both on the court and off, and it distract from my goal. Reflect on training on my physical preparation, which at one time was the reason not to play good tennis. I hope I've taken the lessons learned and not to allow the same mistakes again to achieve something better. I have the opportunity to try something new and I accept it.

- How important is this tournament for you?
- I feel good, I know the place, the courts, the people know what worked for me before and I'll try again. I want to use that charge by the fact that I played well here more than once. It will be interesting, the audience here is wonderful, supported me very much and I want to play well, and why not achieve a good result again.

- Here, together with the Swedish coach Johan Yortegren and Franco Davin. Will you tell us what is the situation with your coach?
- Johan came at a time when I needed it. He is a coach, but at the same time good friend, for which I am grateful to him. But it is a job leaves little tournaments until the end of the year and we want to make sure we have the right team. Franco is in my sight for some time, it was important to understand if we look in the same way in the game and work.

Interview with Grigor Dimitrov in Stockholm Open

Grigor Dimitrov is already in Stockholm, where next week will begin their participation in the IF Stokholm Open against a player that went through qualifying. The tournament will always be special for Bulgarians because it was here in 2013, he won his first ATP title.
Last season Grigor lost the final of Tomas Berdych and now can draw more of them face in quartelfinal. Here's what Dimitrov said in an interview with local media:

- Made a strong run in Stoklom last season. What is the feeling you here again?
- I'm always happy to be back in Stockholm and will remember this place because here I won my first title. I feel very nicely stocked here, which is important when you play a tournament. I know people who deal with the organization of the tournament and the atmosphere is great.

- Are connected with Sweden through several coaches you, including Johann Yortegren with whom you are going now. What can you tell us about your cooperation?
- This has always been a sensitive issue for me, working together with Johan for several months and our relationship is good. Now is the time to build around me a strong structure with the right people, looking for one more person who could bring something different. This process is not finished yet, and until the end of the year there are more tournaments, so I try to keep my composure and then to prepare for next year strongly.

- This year is definitely hard for you. How would you comment on your game?
- Changes made on and off the court, and this is reflected, but I think I learned a lot. I know that if I want to achieve something really big, you need to surround yourself with the right people and to follow your path. I do not regret the decisions that I took this year. My season is not so bad, but should be back on the court and to find my rhythm. I have problems with my confidence because I lost several contested match, but this is something I quickly regained.

- What are your goals for 2016 and?
- I still can not talk about my goals for 2016 and, because I have a lot to do in 2015-a pretty decisions that must be taken.

- How does it reflect the tension that comes from the media?
- I will not lie, as I do not want to read or hear much, they still reach me. Tension is an integral part of what we do, so you have to accept it. For myself I know I was doing the best under pressure, but many people judge me and forget that they do not know all the details that I know. So time for me to come, I do not want to rush or try to prove to anyone, and to do things his own way.

- In Stockholm there are many members of the Top 20 and Top 30. Who are your biggest rivals for the title?
- The scheme is very strong. This is the end of the season and is a matter of feeling - whether your opponent is tired, if you feel well. You must take every advantage that you can provide and try to win the match. Anyone can play quality tennis whether a member of the Top 10 or Top 20. You know you'll have your chance, but you know that will face serious rivals.

Session , Grigor Dimitrov ;)
