Q. You are in relationship with the Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov. How do you find time for each other with your busy schedules?
Maria : It's impossible to have a normal life due to continous trips we have but it is, it's life. We live together, but we are constantly on the road and despite the fact that sometimes we are together at the tournament, it rarely turns out that we both have the same day off. We love each moment of being together when we have such an opportunity. We are very close, talk everyday by phone or video chat , depending on the time difference.
Q. The fact that you both are tennis players is a bonus or not ?
Maria : It's not like that we were looking for, so do not know it's good or not. The good thing is that we both understand and respect each other and the work we do. But our schedules are very different so thats the biggest challenge for us, if we were a couple who spends a weekend together, we could have planned all together, my be expect spending evening together with friends, if I rest, he trains and vice versa.
Q. You are successful in all aspects of your career and had a chance to eam a lot of money,have this created any kind of problems in you relationship with Grigor?
Maria : Even if I would have been alone, without boyfriend, I still would have never believed that money is the main driving force in my life. I'm happy that I earn well, I can live in a good house and ride first class. Of course, I appreciate luxury, but I do not think that it makes any kind of sense in our relationship with Grigor. Yes we are happy when we can treat each other, even though it happens really rarely. We both respect each others careers and not focusing on finances.
Q. How do you deal with situations when one of you has success, and the other difficult times?
Maria : The thing that helps us is that we understand the sport and know how to balance our emotions, so that is not like we are too conceited during success times and too grieve because of fails. Try find a middle ground, whatever it is an exciting moment or difficult situation.
