The highest ranking Bulgarian male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov is expected to arrive in his hometown of Haskovo on Thursday.
During a short ceremony, which is to take place at the new tennis courts in the afternoon, the mayor of Haskovo, Dobri Belivanov, is to award Dimitrov with honorary citizenship.
Haskovo's municipal council voted unanimously in 2014 to bestow upon him honorary citizenship, making the tennis player the youngest holder of the distinction.
After the official ceremony, Dimitrov will hold a tennis lesson with the children from the local tennis club Haskovo 2015.
From his hometown, he will head for Istanbul for participation in the ATP tournament which begins next week. Last year, the Bulgarian reached the semifinals of the tournament.
